Humasis conducted the test in South Africa, a head-to-head comparison of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron sub-variant BA.2.12.1, BA.4, and BA.5 positive clinical samples using the TaqPath COVID-19 CE-IVD RT-PCR Kit against the Humasis COVID-19 Ag Test kits. All the positive clinical samples were next generation sequenced, and the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) was used to validate the sequencers to each omicron sub-variants.

The test revealed a 100% sensitivity for BA.2.12.1, BA.4, and BA.5.
